Lismore Hotel
Lismore Co. Waterford
The Lismore Hotel owns the prestigious honour of being the first purpose-built hotel in Ireland. The Lismore was constructed to provide extra accommodation for the many friends of the Duke of Devonshire, on visit to his Irish residence. The Hotel opened its doors in the late 18th Century and has since undergone extensive refurbishment to a high modern standard. The hotel boasts 20 en-suite bedrooms with modern facilities.
Family rooms are available and the hotel can provide a babysitting service on request. Lismore is an ideal base for the angler and the hotel employs a local ghillie to ensure its guests successful fishing on the Blackwater River. The town itself has much to offer the visitor, with its majestic castle and gardens, an historic cathedral and serene riverside walks.
