In close proximity to Adare, Echo Lodge is a charming, stylish country house, hidden among the hills, watching over the sleepy village of Ballingarry. Built in 1884 as a parochial house, it later became a convent and is now the home of the renowned Mustard Seed Restaurant. Set on seven acres, the gardens have been lovingly and carefully restored to their former glory and guests are invited to stroll through the grounds, enjoy the silence and breathe the country air. The renovations combine the spaciousness and elegance of an earlier age with the comfort and amenities of today.
The interior of Echo Lodge bears the distinctive mark of a seasoned traveller. Offering a choice of seventeen bedrooms, guests delight in the originality of the decoration. Each of the bedrooms is individually decorated with a combination of traditional antique furnishings and good taste prevails. A massage room and small sauna are available for guests at the house.
Fresh herbs and vegetables are gathered daily from the kitchen garden for the preparation of dinner - an affair which is taken very seriously. All produce is sourced from local suppliers and an extensive wine list complements an exciting menu offering the best of modern Irish cuisine.
The Mustard Seed at Echo Lodge is an ideal base for golfing or touring the Southwest and Midwest region. Horse riding, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and garden visits can all be arranged nearby. Shannon Airport is one hour's drive and Cork Airport is one and a half hour's drive.
