Courtmacsherry, County Cork
Courtmacsherry is a small fishing village located on the Carbery coast of County Cork, roughly 16Km each from Bandon and Clonakilty and within easy reach of Kinsale and Cork city. Courtmacsherry Coastal Cottages are an exclusive development of 8 cottages, backed by woodland and overlooking the sheltered Courtmacsherry Bay. The adjoining Courtmacsherry Hotel, has long had a reputation for excellence and comfort and the cottages have been furnished and decorated to these same high standards.
Each cottage has central heating, 2 spacious bedrooms (sleeping 6 people+) and 2 fully tiled bathrooms, as well as a shower downstairs. Upstairs is a fully equipped kitchen and a large lounge with a wooden-railed balcony, offering panoramic views of the bay. The kitchen has a washing machine, dryer, cooker, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. The living area is furnished in a modern, perfectly appointed fashion, with a 3-piece suite and has full satellite television. The adjacent Courtmacsherry Hotel is a restored Georgian mansion and has a fully licenced restaurant in house, which is as popular with locals as it is with guests. As well as that, the residents' bar is available to self-catering guests for a late night tipple before the short stroll home.
For the active among you, the entire west Cork region is extremely accessible for touring - James and Charles Fort, as well as a selection of gourmet restaurants in Kinsale; Castle Gardens in Timoleague; Clonakilty's Model Railway Village; Baltimore's maritime village, with access to Cape Clear and Sherkin islands. Courtmacsherry Bay itself is famous for many species of wading birds, including oystercatchers, dunlins and herons and there are numerous woodland and beach walking trails around the hotel and cottages.
