The Castle Country House is the restored wing of a sixteenth century castle. Located just outside Dungarvan at Millstreet, County Waterford, it is bounded to the south by the lush pasture lands of the Blackwater Valley, and to the north by the rugged beauty of the Nire Valley. Open to the public since 1978, The Castle Country House has become internationally recognised for the quality of its accommodation and the genuine warmth of its welcome. It has received a five-diamond award rating from both the AA and RAC, and is recommended by most good travel guides.
The River Finisk itself is annually restocked and flows through the large dairy farm operated by the Nugent family. This picturesque setting provides abundant promise for the avid walker and nature lover, and all our guests are invited to experience life on a modern working farm. Tasty and wholesome farmhouse cuisine is provided using fruits, vegetables, meats and herbs harvested on the family farm. Meals are served in the original castle dinning room, with its fifteenth century archway and castle walls, five feet in diameter.

Spacious bedrooms are beautifully and individually furnished with period furniture and each provides magnificent views of the surrounding river valley. All rooms are ensuite and contain either a king or emperor size double beds dressed in the crispest of white linen. Tea and coffee making facilities, televisions, hairdryers and toiletries are also provided.
