Westpoint is situated in Salthill, a quiet residential area of Galway's seaside suburb, with free guest off street parking, is on the City Bus Route and is well serviced by Taxi / Cabs. It is approximately 100 metres above sea level and from the house there are excellent views of Galway Bay and the Clare Hills.
The granite wall to the front dates back to the 1840's 'the famine era', as a result of development very little of this original wall remains on the road. During this era the local landlord created employment for his labourers by building the wall right down to the beach and paid them daily with enough porridge to feed their families.
It is a ten minute down hill walk to the Beach and seven minutes drive to the City Centre, excellent directions are available to arrive at the house and to get to the city.
Westpoint is an ideal base to undertake day tours of Connemara, the Burren or Aran Islands. Coach Tours of Connemara and the Burren are available and collection can be arranged from Westpoint.
