Ard Mhuiris is conveniently situated just five minutes from the Pier, within easy walking distance of restaurants, pubs, craft shops and beautiful sandy beaches. Tours can be arranged either by mini bus, bicycle, traditional pony and trap or jaunting car. Aran is abound with historical monuments - the remains of old temples, altars, stone pillars and forts, including the most magnificent Barbaric monument now extant in Europe, the Neolithic Dún Aonghus Fort.
Walking is also very popular on the island, it is the easiest way to admire the many wonders of nature that Aran has to offer, from birds and animals to wild flowers. There are three walks on the islands, designed to pass many of the ancient sites and places of interest on the island. Also to be enjoyed as you tour Inis Mór are the beautiful cliff views and the famous wild countryside of Aran.
