Allihies itself has much to offer. Sea View Guesthouse is located on the Beara Way Walking Route with miles of wonderful walks on either side. Allihies boasts some of the richest fishing grounds in all of Europe. Prime fishing locations are within walking distance of the Guesthouse. Bicycles and minibuses are also available to hire if you would like to travel further afield to explore the Beara Peninsula.
Allihies itself is an old mining village. The Copper Mine is just half a mile from the Guesthouse. These mines are now closed but are nevertheless very interesting to visit.
Just half a mile from the Guesthouse is a beautiful white sandy beach.
The village playground is next to Sea View Guesthouse where there are basketball and tennis facilities and a lovely play area for smaller children.
Pubs in the area are well-renowned for Irish music and impromptu sing songs. After your hectic day you can relax a while, drinking a Guinness and meet the local people.
